100th Birthday Party!

This is one of the best private parties we have done. It was an honor to provide the music for such an important celebration in a person’s life to share with their family.

There was literally ages from 1 to 100! the newest member of the family was 1 month old. The family had a “trio” play during the dinner hour, and we played music for the dancing part. Lot’s of fun music for all ages! Line dances, cumbias, tejano, top-40, and old school, with a dash of county and some classic “boleros” from the 1950′s.

There was the cake cutting and a small ceremony where the guest of honor was given a flower. Each flower had a unique color which represented a different family member. Example: white flower for children, and red flowers for grandchildren.

This was a grand celebration & family reunion at the same time. Once in a lifetime events should not be left to anyone other than a professional. Our friends at Unique Photography were the exclusive photographers for such an important event. I will post a family portrait here once we receive one. It will make this post all the more special.

Remix Quince “Fun Dance!”

Just finished making a custom fun dance for a Quinceañera. It will incorporate the traditional Waltz and a surprise mix about 1:00  into the waltz! Here is the list of songs that were chosen for the remix.

The traditional waltz is Tiempo De Vals- Chayanne

Plays for about 1:00 and the following are remixed into the fun dance!

• Black Eyed Peas – I Got a feeling
• Sugarhill Gang – Apache
• Christina Aguilera – Ladymalade
• Michael Jackson – way you make me feel
• She Wolf – Shakira
• End with: Tiempo De Vals – Chayanne

The total mix last exactly 5:3 minutes. Should make for a really fun dance!

80th Surprise Birthday Party

The location was out of Tucson again, It seems that more of the bookings are coming from out of the Tucson area.

     First, it was rather difficult to find the location. American Legion post somewhere hidden away in some residential area near a park. The set-up was quick, and enjoyed listening to a Trio group that were playing during the dinner hour. The night started of with a cumbia: Rosa Maria, which was requested by the guest of honor.

     There is a wide variety of music that is played at an 80th birthday party. The age ranges are literally from 8 to 80! and, we had people attending fromdifferent parts of the country including: Kansas, Florida, and California. I found it a Little tough trying to please everyone, and make sure the guest of honor was having a good time. I received a lot of compliments and people had a good time, which was all that matters in the end.

     Wow! I was exhausted, mentally, and musically! Lot’s of line dances, Mexican, music, Rancheras, Old School, Disco, and some Freestyle for the guests from Miami, Florida. Also, played some older Mexican music including: Boleros, Rumberos, and Cha Cha Cha.

     The guest of honor departed early, he said: “baile muncho! gracias!” That is all that really makes my job full-filling, when we can bring some happiness to people, and the world through music.
